Building Resilience - Equine Assisted Development Workshop for Children and Teenagers

  • Wellness with Horses and Humans 77-81 Giles Road Redland Bay, QLD, 4165 Australia (map)

LEARN THE 5 KEY PILLARS TO WELLBEING

Resilience | Mindfulness | Values | Positive mindset | Healthy Boundaries

The growth and changes experienced during childhood can sometimes bring feelings of anxiety, isolation, and depression. Evolve Psychology and Wellness with Horses and Humans are committed to supporting young people as they navigate the many challenges of childhood by helping to build interpersonal skills and resilience tools. Through exploring and developing relationships with each other and members of our very special herd, this introductory program will encourage participants to develop a positive and healthy sense of self.

Spending guided time with horses is proven to promote healing, lower stress, and offer insight about oneself and the world around us. Participants will spend the morning outside at a beautiful 15-acre facility in the Redlands.

Participants will learn tools to help them reduce anxiety and depression, and gain a positive sense of self through:

  • Guided activities with horses

  • Understanding the parallels between horse and human behaviour

  • Mindfulness techniques

  • Sharing perspectives with other workshop participants

  • Envisioning a future

  • Experiencing a world outside of home and school

  • Cultivating community

  • Showing empathy and care towards the horses and each other

COST: $110 per person (Includes morning tea)
